Projet Orcera El Pilarillo

The workshop is located in the Sierra de Segura, 7 km from Orcera, in a unique environment, the Casa Forestal El Pilarillo, built around 1901 and completed by us to install the workshop and be our home.

The house is located a few meters away from one of the paths of the Gran Recorrido, GR 247, "Los Bosques del Sur, ETAPA 1, "Área recreativa Peña del Olivar - Segura de la Sierra", which links with different destinations, villages and towns. In the Natural Park of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas.

The climate is mountainous, with cold winters and summers of cool nights that allow for rest. In the middle of nature, with views in shades of green, blue and ochre, a diverse flora and fauna, we breathe tranquillity, calm and serenity. Here is our home, our workshop, where we live, inspire and create. In the Casa Forestal El Pilarillo, km 6, Orcera, Jaén.

Orcera and the new extended project.

We decided to settle in Orcera, with a more complete and new project, a project to recover, implant, develop and divulge the trade of low-warp loom artisan weaver, which had disappeared from Jaén. And we started a new journey in La Casa Forestal El Pilarillo, from where, in addition to the work associated with our workshop, with pieces of design and quality, we offer you the possibility of personalized and free guided tours, workshops and courses and/or order a beautiful handmade loom.

In the visits you can see the looms in operation, while we explain in general terms, the trade and the world of handmade weaving. You can see the exhibition of finished pieces, the shop and if you are more interested, you can do activities with artisan looms or intensive training courses of artisan weaving, totally personalized, in any of the different looms, enjoying the environment that surrounds us in the middle of Sierra de Segura.
